Health Kentucky

Health Kentucky is a program that provides free appointments with doctors and dentists and free medication for families who can't afford to pay for health care. Call the Health Kentucky hotline at (800) 633-8100 or visit the Health Kentucky web site for more information.

Health Kentucky Program Requirements
To qualify for free health care through Health Kentucky, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be a Kentucky resident.
  • You have no health insurance, including Medicaid or Medicare.
  • Your family income must be less than the federal poverty guidelines. This means you earn less than $8,980 if you live alone; less than $12,120 for a family of two; less than $15,260 for a family of three; and less than $18,400 for a family of four.
  • You must have less than $2,000 in savings or property.

How To Apply for the Health Kentucky Program
You need to schedule an appointment with the Department for Community Based Services offices in your county. Click here to find the address and phone number of the office in your county or call (800) 633-8100. When you go in for an appointment, make sure you ask for the Kentucky Physicians Care PA 47 application.

How To Schedule a Free Appointment
Once you have been approved for the program, you can schedule an appointment with a doctor or dentist by calling the Health Kentucky hotline at (800) 633-8100.

How To Get Free Prescription Medication
One you have been approved for the program, you can get a prescription filled for free at one of the 500 pharmacies participating in the Health Kentucky program. To find a participating pharmacy near you, call (800) 633-8100.
